The Insider’s Guide to the Mayo Clinic is one of those amazingly informative books that you immediately want to send to everyone you know who might need it. Written by Dr. Ron Wolfson with the complete cooperation of the Mayo staff, this book provides a practical, reassuring guide to the finest medical institution in the world. The same complexity and scale that enables Mayo to save lives on a regular basis, also makes it a very complicated place; visiting for the first time can be daunting, confusing and exhausting, especially since you are probably sick – or worried about being sick – or you wouldn’t be there in the first place. We first went to Mayo in 2018 so I could be evaluated to be an altruistic kidney donor. I wish we had known about this book; it would have saved us a lot of anxiety, and made the trip a great deal easier. If you or someone you know is headed to Mayo – now or in the future - this book will give you all the information you need to make that journey easier.
